Our Story
Obesity is one of the defining health challenges of our time. GLP-1 medicines are reshaping the treatment landscape, offering new possibilities for people beginning their weight-loss journey. But every journey involves more than medicine - it includes changes in daily routines, nutrition, mindset, and lifestyle.
We founded Azento Health® with the conviction that the gut microbiome is a key part of this journey. Trillions of microorganisms in the gut form a living ecosystem that influences digestion, nutrient balance, and metabolic resilience. As people change their diets and routines, this ecosystem shifts - and supporting it may be vital for long-term health and happiness.
Our founding team brings many years of leadership experience in pharma, nutrition, and life sciences:
Mads Stoustrup – CEO & Co-Founder
Commercial leader with more than 20 years at Novo Nordisk, where he worked extensively on GLP-1 therapies and obesity care.
Dr. Peter Kaufmann – COO & CSO & Co-Founder
Scientist and business leader, PhD from ETH Zurich, with CEO experience inpharma and nutrition.
Professor Arne Astrup, MD, DMSc
Healthcare specialist in obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular care.
Remy Kindle – Sales Director
Sales director with many years of experience in pharma and health care in the area of obesity, diabetes & cardiovascular.
Jesper Gantzel – Chairman & Co-Founder
Entrepreneur with many successful start-up companies focusing on lactic acid bacteria and gut microbiome projects.
